Kantor Gallery is pleased to present a new solo exhibition by LA based artist Anthony Rianda.

These paintings of popular basketball players are simultaneously an attempt to elevate human excellence to the level of portraiture painting throughout art history, and also an acknowledgment of contemporary American athletes stepping in and becoming these holy icons that inspire us for better for worse. The subjects in these paintings have achieved incredible cultural heights and have earned a place on the painter’s canvas which was once reserved for the most prominent religious and royal figures.
