CHRISTOPH RUCKHÄBERLE

October 5 - November 4, 2006

Kantor/Feuer Gallery is pleased to announce the first Los Angeles solo exhibition for Leipzig based artist Christoph Ruckhäberle. This exhibition will showcase prints of Ruckhäberle’s work. This process of printmaking works well within the artist’s ideas of line and color reflecting his desire to set a stage for his work.

In addition to the new body of work exhibited at Kantor / Feuer Gallery a billboard of one of Ruckhäberle’s prints will be displayed on the roof of the gallery. The theme of billboards carries throughout the show. In one of the paintings, several figures are displayed and placed in front of a billboard. In others, the images in the prints included in the exhibition appear on the billboard in the painting. This provides continuity in the show where all things circle back into the primary idea.

Christoph Ruckhäberle was born in 1972 in Pfaffenhofen, Germany. He received his MFA from Hochschule fur Grafik und Buchkunst in Leipzig, Germany with professor Arno Rink. Ruckhäberle has had previous solo exhibitions at Zach Feuer Gallery, New York and Galerie Kleindienst, Leipzig. He has also been included in exhibitions at the Prague Biennial, MASS MoCA, the Cleveland Museum of Art and Museum der bildenden Kunste, Leipzig.

The exhibition opens October 5th and will run through November 4th, 2006. An opening reception will be held on Thursday, October 5th from 6:00 – 9:00 pm. Valet parking will be available during the reception. For more information about the gallery please visit http://www.kantorfeuer.com.
