Kantor Gallery is proud to present Pico and Glendon, a solo exhibition of new ceramics by Jake Clark. The show will be on view at the gallery from October 12, 2020 through October 31, 2020.

‘This is the first year that I haven’t been to LA in 19 years and being stuck in Melbourne inspired be to create works from places that were familiar to me, such as iconographic signs and dining experiences from the city. Everything about Los Angeles speaks to me. Driving around Sunset, La Brea and La Cienaga and seeing all the billboards and signage of all these specials spots and restaurants. I love how multifaceted all the cities are within Los Angeles and the pots represent all these different neighborhoods.  My pots are not perfect. They’re a little wonky and to me, that is life, and that has attractiveness to it. For instance, you can be driving down Sunset Boulevard by El Compadre and it’s a little dirty and run down but this gems is there, and that’s everywhere in LA. The pots, with their flaws and painterly quality, represent the charm of LA.’
